Tramadol is a pain reliever. It comes under the brand name Ultram. The doctor recommends this medicine for moderate to severe pain in adults. It works by changing the behavior of the brain towards pain. It is not a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID).

Read the medication guide provided by your health consultant. Consume this medicine by mouth, with or without food, as per the direction of your doctor. There should be a gap of four-six hours between two dosages. This medicine works best when you take this at the first sign of pain. Do not wait for the pain to get worse. The maximum dose of a day is 400mg.
If you miss the dose of Tramadol, then take this medicine as soon as possible but avoid taking if the time of the next dose is near. To get the maximum benefit of medicine, take this medicine every day and at the same time.
