They are not. Reality blurs. I await the mass downvotes. You are correct. While Madden play now is unquestionably better in many aspects(WRs playing with the ball largely ) there are still a lot of things the old Madden on PS2/OG Xbox did better particularly with HB play. Let alone the attributes. I still play Madden 08 and 11 on my ps2 emulator.Essentially what happened is if the consoles came out the advanced computing power allowed for a more simulation adventure. Now players make decisions in zone coverage compared to back then when everything was scripted from the snap. Some people liked that, and some desired the experience. That is nice, but just say that ya know lol.

Think a lot of people are thinking more about the features of Franchise. I have been playing both Madden 07 on PS2 and Madden 20 recently and I much prefer franchise mode in Madden 07. I also do very much love the vision cone. The only position I really think should be buffed for rookies is HBs. There’ve been a reasonable number of HBs who’ve come in that instantly were top 5 at the NFL. Other positions should def stay about where they are. Maybe a little more competitive to current NFL players as it’s really hard to justify giving a lot of 64-70 ovr gamers a bunch of playing time and that is essentially all you will find after round 2 a lot of the time.

I have to disagree with each of you. I’d say the games are scripted than the games. He talks a great deal about game physics, cartoon, realism, and fluidity throughout gameplay. After viewing one of his reviews, you really start to see how stiff and autonomous Madden 20 is contrasted to Madden 08, a game made 12 decades ago. Watching his videos are the reason I do not cut Madden/EA idle when it comes to bugs and gameplay that is poor.

LMAO zone coverage is designed to allow the receiver catch the ball? We are not talking about a drag trail or something super shallow. We’re currently talking about literally any path across the middle of the area. They don’t adhere to them and pass them off. Not to mention if we start talking about cloud zones that the defenders don’t have any programming of whether there’s help over the top of them, so frequently 2-3-4 defenders will probably be covering a single man. Also, no mentioning of blue zones? Are we just going to discount them? Don’t bring realism into this argument. It won’t go well for you I can guarantee you. Madden is not an accurate portrayal of football in any element. Pass offense/defense, run offense/defense, all of these have glaring holes in them which make them unrealistic.

Plays like this do not happen because rather than improving the ai EA just taken pursuit and reaction time through the fucking roof. There are seldom any plays that let any recipient anywhere on the field to grab the ball with this space. Since everyone on the defense immediately begins running to the recipient as soon as they catch the ball they’re being siphoned from the whole defense. Then broken handle animations are so slow to this point it’s virtually useless to break a handle because there are a defender there immediately which makes run after grab plays impossible if you don’t possess an elusive player with the ball. And on top of all of that 9 of the 10 other guys on offense literally stop moving blocks will never occur. All in all of the games are to what we used to have horrible in contrast.
